Caving (by Annie)

Last Saturday I had the chance to go caving with the pathfinders so I decided to go. We left the church at about 8:40 Saturday morning and didn't get back until 1:00 Sunday morning! We spent the morning having church and Sabbath school, and then at about four in the afternoon we went to the cave. Once in the cave we went about half way to the back, the reason we didn't go all the way back is because it takes about 12 hours round trip for a small group of experienced cavers and there were close to 100 of us and we were not all experienced. But it was still very fun, other than the fact that I'm still very sore from it.

GYC (by Annie)

Last weekend, my mom, Sarah and I all went to the Generation of Youth for Christ conference (GYC) the meetings started on Wednesday, but we didn't get there until Friday afternoon. Even then, it was AMAZING! There was a covered walk way to and from the convention center, which was nice because it was in the twenties during the day and down in to the teens at night. We got to see friends there that we don't usually go to see other wise so that was a lot of fun. There was an outreach thing on Friday after lunch, but we didn't get to go on it unfortunately, because we got there about a half hour after they left, but even with out going in the outreach the weekend was still very much a blessing.

Vacation (by Annie)

Well we started school again today, it was kind of nice even though we had a really nice vacation. I had a lot of fun shopping for gifts for every body else. Then about a week before Christmas we were going to do book and game Christmas, but the books weren't here yet, so we did game Christmas instead. That night we each got to open up matching presents, and they all turned out to be a Wii gaming system! But there was just one problem, we had all the parts to the Wii, but no TV to play it on. That's when our parents told us it was some where in plain sight, so naturally we conducted a thorough search of the house, but we still couldn't find it, that's when I went out to the trailer in the back yard and there sitting on the couch was a 42" plasma screen TV! We then spent the rest of the evening playing on the Wii. The books got here on the following Tuesday so that night we did book Christmas. I got a lot of really nice books, including the Iliad and Odyssey, and a biography on C. S. Lewis. Then on Christmas I got a lot of very nice gifts, including the souvenir DVDs form the international pathfinder camporee, and a Life is Good shirt. All in all I had a very nice Christmas break.
We all had a really good vacation. I like it when we got to open the books and the game's Early so we could play with, and reed them. I also liked it when we started Christmas on the 24th and ended on the 26th, so we had two and a half day's of Christmas. I also really liked going shopping all day on my birthday and going to cracker barrel and spaghetti factory at the beginning and end of the day. New years eve was a lot of fun even tho Thomson's where the only ones that came and Rosie woes the only one who staid all night, that was a lot of fun having her sleep over. And then my mom, Annie, and I went to GYC and that was a lot of fun and it was a nice surprise to learn that their were catwalks to the convention center so we staid nice and warm. It was a very good vacation and I hope everyone else had a good one to

Well Christmas break starts this week. I can't wait till it starts, because then I'll have two weeks off from school! I am hoping to get some new books when we do our book and game Christmas as i have read all my books quite a few times already. We will also spend that week playing lots of games and generally spend time as a family.
