Some pictures - if you click on them you get a larger view, but have to use your 'back' button to get back to the blog.

The debris field, aka empty lot, between our house and the one to the east of us (in right-hand background - second story is missing.)

two houses down
Neighbors two houses to the East - They had FORTUNATELY just left, about half an hour before the storm. Plan was to leave at 4:30, after a short nap - but the dad couldn't sleep, so they left early!! PTL!!!
The neighbors still had a sense of humor, when they found some old signs amid the rubble of their garage. That is what remains of their home, in the background. Thank HEAVEN the mom and kids were with us in our basement!!
2x6
That 2x6 sticking out of the front of the house, goes in through the wall, through a bookshelf, through Sarah's headboard and 18 inches into the end of her mattress.
trailer\
This shot is taken from the location that the trailer that lodged in our garage was parked before the storm, so you can see how far it flew.  It clipped their house (see missing bricks on corner of house), left two fairly large creators in their yard, and took flight, only to be stopped by our garage.  You can see it, there in the center of the picture, mangled from it's encounter with our house, with our garage just to the left of it.
hole left after Jeff pulled his trailer off
The gaping hole left, once Jeff removed his trailer from our house. I did have a talk with him about his parking skills!!

The truck, in the 'garage'
brick in wall
Brick, embedded in the BACK wall of the garage - a full 20-25 feet from the wall that it came from!
trailer
Our 'second home', now totalled, and helping to pay for a new vehicle, free and clear!! We'll miss it, but we have lots of favorite memories to cherish!! AND NO MORE PAYMENTS TO MAKE!!! (it had been laying on it's side, this was just after it got set up on it's wheels again)
more interior trailer shots
a shot of the inside of the trailer
dining room window frame lodged in deck railing
The window frame, lodged in the deck railing, came from the window on the farthest right opening in the house, there in the background, to the right just a bit. It flew out, frame and all, lodged in the railing of the deck, and one of the panes of glass is still intact!! It is about 30 feet from it's previous location.
Chicken coop
What is left of our beloved Chicken coop. Never did get any pictures of it. : (
the cake
the infamous cake left on the kitchen deck. The deck previously held all the typical things a kitchen deck holds, a fruit bowl, a pencil can, the chore list, yesterday's mail, Emma's birthday cake, etc. ALL WIPED CLEAN. Except the cake!

Mater Bedroom - we found items from three different households (other than our own) in this room! Items that were in this room were found 60-65 feet away, in the backyard.
glass shard in wall
glass shard (approx 3 inches on longest side) embedded in master bedroom wall. And plant matter splattered on wall. CRAZY!  Who knows HOW long it will be before we are no longer fishing this plant matter and little shards of glass out of our lives!

This is the master bathroom.  In the corner, there, next to the far sink, is plant matter to the depth of 4-6 inches.  And to think I was feeling frustrated that I had not had the time to clean my bathroom in several days.  Notice, also, the large 'shard' of someone's siding, embedded in the wall above the towel bar.  Close-up follows.

School room
the school room - notice fridge in the doorway - it WAS 8 feet away from there. The door leaning on it is the door to the downstairs, which used to be just through that door way and then to the immediate right.  The fridge nearly blocked our exit from the basement!!
playroom
The play room (above the garage)
boys room
Boys room - notice mud splattered on wall - this is a second floor room!
Showalter\
all our clothes laid out on the Showalter's lawn to dry! (well, actually this was a several-day project, so this is probably about a third of them, there ARE 8 of us, after all!)   What patient, loving people they are!!
